Vianney De L Estang Portrait

A graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées, Vianney de l’Estang (age 43) has worked in renewable energies for the last 10 years. He began his career at GDF Suez, which is now Engie, where he first supervised external growth projects and then managed subsidiaries and holdings in Eastern Europe. Beginning in 2006, he developed the renewable energy activity of the alternative operator Poweo, which is now Direct Energie, prior to heading up Smart Energies in early 2012, transforming a family group from the oil industry into a decentralised renewable energy leader that is engaged in the energy transition, in France and internationally.

Whether to its capital or to its projects’ capital, the Group welcomes investors from family offices who share a common view, namely investing long-term in projects that have meaning - renewable energies and the energy transition in general - from a wealth perspective.

As a stakeholder committed to the energy transition, Smart Energies develops, finances, builds, and operates renewable energy production sites in Europe and Africa using solar, hydraulic, and biogas resources in the regions.
